I'm only human...

By Paul Hobbs

Once upon a midnight dreary
I lay in bed tired and weary
It Christmas morn, I turn my head
To face my darling in the bed
I touch her hair all silky smooth
she whines aloud but does not move
I touch again she does not stir
her mind is full of cats and fur
She awakens from her feline dreams
sees my visage and nearly screams
I can't blame her for screaming at that
I'm only human and not a cat !!!
